Children are the center of everything we do at Discovery Oaks Academy, a private school conveniently located in Sterling, Virginia. Discovery Oaks Academy has been important to many families in the Northern Virginia area. Many Academy staff attended the school as children and have sent their own children to the Academy.

The current staff has more than 160 years combined experience teaching and working with young children. Many of our staff have been with the Academy for 15 years or more with a few proudly claiming 25 to 30 years of service to our children at Discovery Oaks Academy. In addition, we work to attract younger teachers to provide the wonderful mix of new ideas with the proven, established curriculum offered.
Your child will grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually in an enriching, child-centered environment. Their interests and needs form the basis of all instruction.
Our program is focused not only on the excitement of discovery but also on the development of the whole child, cherishing each student as an individual with unique talents. This is accomplished through a curriculum that allows for individualized lessons to challenge each child, daily one-on-one instruction, introduction to foreign language and sign language, special events, computer time, music class, library time, and outdoor play.
Located on over two acres of land and bordered by the wooded Claude Moore Park, the Discovery Oaks Academy campus provides spacious and well-equipped, fenced playground areas for daily outdoor time, weather permitting, of course.
We are fully accredited, and our curriculum complies with the Virginia Standards of Learning.
